Preparing for a new season

Preparing for the start of a season
Coaching is an honorable profession that many self-less individuals volunteer their time to do. I call myself lucky to be amongst those in the fraternity. In this blog I will share some strategies that others may find helpful when preparing for the start of a season.
When preparing for the start of the season it is very important to communicate the team goals and objectives with parents. You should be also share the practice schedule, game schedule, team goals and individual goals. Sharing the practice and game schedule in advance allows families to plan their schedules and ultimately takes one less thing off of your weekly to do list. Sharing your team goals helps parents and players to understand what you are trying to accomplish during the season and increases the likelihood that these goals are met. Setting individual goals for players helps players to monitor their progress during the season and focus their efforts during practice and at home in order to reach their goals.
Coaching is an honorable profession, that when done correctly can help your players and parents feel successful. I hope you follow my blogs in the future for tips on organizing and planning practices!
